Major Jacob Rittenhouse

Jacob Rittenhouse was born in Englewood, Colorado, and moved to Spokane, Washington, at the age of one. He entered the Platoon Leader Course in November 2009 and attended Officer Candidate School in July 2010 and July 2011.
Second Lieutenant Rittenhouse was commissioned into the Marine Corps in June 2012. Following completion of The Basic School and the Military Police Basic Officer Leader Course, he reported to Charlie Company, 1st Law Enforcement Battalion, in September 2014, where he served as a Platoon Commander.
In December 2015, 1stLt Rittenhouse and his platoon were assigned as the Law Enforcement Detachment for the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response – Central Command. In April 2016, he deployed to Al Jaber, Kuwait, and in August 2016, he was reassigned to Erbil, Iraq, as the Officer in Charge of the Expeditionary Forensic Exploitation Center - North.
Upon redeployment to the United States in December 2016, Captain Rittenhouse was assigned to the 1st Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG) as the Law Enforcement Liaison Officer, Tactical Site Exploitation Instructor, and Training Assistance to the Marine Corps (TAMACOR) Officer.
In June 2017, Captain Rittenhouse reported to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC, where he served as the Law Enforcement Integration Officer, Protection Officer, and Force Deployment Officer for the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing.
In April 2021, Major Rittenhouse reported to Marine Corps Detachment Fort Leonard Wood, MO, where he served as the Commanding Officer of the United States Marine Corps Military Police School.
In June 2024, Major Rittenhouse reported to the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, where he currently serves as the Executive Officer.
Major Rittenhouse is a graduate of the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School, the U.S. Army Military Police Captain’s Career Course, and the U.S. Naval War College’s Command and Staff program. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Eastern Washington University and a Master of Arts in Business & Organizational Security Management from Webster University.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (second award) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (fourth award).
